Hi Joey
I can appreciate the fact that you "rejoined" Anthrax to do the tour but when it comes down to it you signed contracts to do the shows with them and I hope that you are getting paid your worth. It's a shame when we all sell out but it seems that rock stars are not an exception to that rule. I love Anthrax but I prefer to see you solo. You are a good bloke who is doing them a favour and vice versa. The star fell a long time ago for Anthrax but hopefully the tour will invigorate the interest of a new generation of metal heads who can truly respect a great vocalist when they hear one. Please tell me that you are not going back with Anthrax. I absolutely agree with the commentary left by those people who highly recommend that you do not tread the floor boards with Scott Ian or Charlie Benante.
I've had the misfortune to meet Scott Ian and Charlie Benante several times and it was a most unpleasant experience. On the other hand I had the pleasure of meeting you along with Frank and Dan and the three of you were just fatastic.
When Anthrax gave you the pink slip in 1991 I just couldn't believe it. That was a sad day in music and a mistake that Anthrax have paid for dearly over the years. Don't do them any favours Joey. At a time when Anthrax were in their element musically they treated you like garbage. I know the pull of the dollar is mighty and you've got to eat but think of artistic integrity and credibility.
Do those guys beg you to come back or is it just simply a matter of contracts stipulating the terms and conditions. If you have to do it in order to survive I hope you go for big bucks Joey but I'll say it again I won't like seeing you up on that stage with people who dismissed you like that and took your fabulous vocal skills and contributions to a pivotal band of the 80's for granted.
Claiming that John Bush was more in line at the time with the direction the band wanted to go in is absolute bullshit. (No offence to John he has an excellent voice also).
Good luck Joey and do what's best for you. I always love hearing your voice it's absolutely fantastic.
I just saw Sheila E in drum clinic tonight and she was awesome. You go girl! Rock on everybody.
